Tint questions

What is the legal window tint in Kansas?
Kansas Highway Patrol and K.S.A. 8-1749a require at least 35% total light transmission on every side window and the rear window (film plus factory glass). Windshields may have a non-reflective sun strip above the AS-1 line. We will measure the glass and tell you where you stand before we start.
Can I run 5% or 20% tint on a Kansas-tagged vehicle?
Those shades look sharp and we install them when you ask, but they sit below the 35% Kansas limit on a state-registered vehicle. If you drive a Kansas tag on the highway, 35% or lighter on the sides and rear is the legal path. We will tell you that before we start.
What is the difference between carbon and ceramic tint?
Solar FX Vintage Carbon is a dyed carbon film with a factory-black look and 99% UV rejection. FXtreme2 and FX Plus are nano-ceramic: more infrared heat rejection (up to 88% and 96%) and they will not interfere with electronics. Shade does not change the package price; film does.
How long does a tint job take?
Most cars and trucks are a few hours. Full windshields, removers, and farm cabs take longer. We will give you a time window when we confirm the quote.
How should I prep my vehicle?
Come with a reasonably clean interior so we can work the glass. Leave aftermarket rain-repellent coatings off the windows. Tell us about existing film, cracks, or aftermarket electronics. After install, keep the windows up for a few days while the film cures.
Do you warranty the film?
Solar FX automotive film includes a premium lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling, and excessive color change when we install it.
